The Peak Team
As the owner of Peak Business Consultants, Maki Pombo is deeply committed to the mission, values, and clients of the firm. With over 17 years of experience, Maki continually strives to do more than manage the needs of customers; she endeavors to see Peak’s Consultants become valued partners to each of their clients and takes great pride in seeing financial successes at every stage of growth. Maki took over as the leader of Peak in 2006, shortly after completing her Masters in Business Administration degree from the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at UNH. Since that time she has continued to build the business with the support of her talented team. Over the years, Maki has worked to both deepen the level of Peak’s client service offerings as well as diversify Peak’s client base.
When she is not helping her clients, Maki enjoys outdoor adventuring of all kinds with her husband Matt, daughter Maya, and dogs Ruby & Leroy.
In her free time, Samai enjoys learning about different cultures, reading, and spending time here on the Seacoast with her family.
Tammie J. Carney
Serving in a controller role for 25 years, Tammie has been intricately involved in the implementation of fully integrated ERP systems for several companies. Her passion is streamlining and creating consistency, and finding the shortest path to get the job done.
When she is not crunching numbers, Tammie enjoys volunteering with her church and in her community, sharing time with her husband as they watch their children and grandchildren find their place in the world, as well as indulging in a fascination with computer games.
Captain comes to Peak after having spent the last 17 years as a Business Consultant. He’s also been a Financial Operations Manager, Controller, Director of Human Resources and Payroll Manager. Captain has worked with a wide variety of businesses ranging from non-profit theaters to acute care hospitals and has consulted for medical practices, law firms, franchisors, landscapers, photographers, retailers, and real estate companies (just to name a few!)
In his free time, Captain enjoys being outdoors: running, hiking, biking or just tossing the ball for his pups. He loves to travel and likes to get away whenever possible; whether that’s a quick trip to New York, visiting the West Coast, or putting a new pin in his travel map.
Kelly Preisendorfer, CPA
Kelly Preisendorfer is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of accounting experience. She comes to Peak via a long tenure with a local public accounting firm where she was focused on the taxation of partnerships and small corporations, primarily in the real estate industry. In addition to her corporate practice, Kelly has worked with many smaller local businesses ranging from services and retail to restaurants and nonprofits. She has a CPA designation along with a master’s degree in Accounting from Southern NH University and holds a bachelor’s from Plymouth State.
Kelly and her husband have two young kids, Greta & Simon, and love to go camping/travel as a family. They also cannot get enough of the live music scene and enjoy road-tripping to music festivals of all shapes and sizes.
When not improving the lives of Peak’s clients, you’ll find Debbie at home helping to raise her grandchildren, or traveling the world for fun.
As a former restaurant owner, Katie learned to keep many balls in the air – while maintaining her focus as well as her sense of humor. When she isn’t helping clients, Katie is a dedicated Yoga instructor and has been teaching on the Seacoast since 2000. She enjoys spending her free time relaxing with her husband and daughter.
Ashley is a highly motivated professional with over a decade of accounting experience in various capacities, having focused the majority of her career in manufacturing and inventory in large, corporate settings. In addition, she brings small business experience as well as skills in the contract management, Human Resources, and technology sectors. She has an accounting degree from Bryant University to complement her real-world experience.
Ashley is married with 2 young daughters, loves to ski, and spends her winter weekends outside playing on the snow with her family and her summers soaking up the sun on a warm, sandy beach (dreaming of skiing.)
As our Office admin, Kaitlyn is the pulse of our client service team, she welcomes clients and visitors alike and is always happy to answer questions or direct people to the right contact. She is our front line liason to the team and essential to our team-based work environment. Kaitlyn came to the Seacoast area by way of New Jersey and has a Bachelor’s Degree in History a from Kean University. Before joining the team at Peak she worked for both a preschool and an engineering firm, only to suddenly find herself packing her bags and moving to Kittery, Maine to live with her boyfriend, Chris, who is stationed at the Naval Base.
In her free time, she enjoys photography, cooking, traveling to different sports stadiums, and going on adventures with her boyfriend and pup, Khaleesi.
